Title: Linka - anyone remember this?
Post by: chriswil42 on August 31, 2020, 03:10:57 PM
Going through the garage I came across the Linka sets I bought back around 1980. Thought I'd bring them into use.
Does anyone remember Linka?

I do, I spent many happy hours making buildings, walls and stuff.
I even built a castle - all for the kids you understand.
The company ended up working out of Alnwick station.
They produced a lot of different sets, all OO or 4mm though.
It was always difficult to get the pieces to match 100%.

Its a messy job with plaster and such.

They look ok Chris, bit of joint filling required.
I remember building a row of cottages and a station for a railway layout when I was a member of the Bridlington Railway Model Club.
I wonder if I have any photos - old style - no digital then.
Maybe a visit to the archives again.

In amongst some of the parts I had made, I'd obiously started building a railway platform. I still have all my model railway bits including rolling stock.
