Finding these 'freebee' decals for the Hawker Hunter in my 'decal stash box', I checked my reference books as I remember well the fierce debate about the colour of the Hunter's Suez stripes. It seems that maintenance guys were in a hurry and only painted the "yellow" stripes (not the black ones) to several aircraft and/or parts of aircraft (particularly FAA Sea Hawk fuselage area). Moreover, they used a kind of sand/midstone as "true" yellow was not available in any quantity. The RAF went a stage further and reverted to painting some Canberra aircraft in black/white stripes recalling the WWII invasion colours.
