In Latin just for the ones who complained about my rules for the Roman camp.
Now what will my strange and different mind make of the pile of plastic shapes in the photo - will give you some time to make up your mind - hohoho
-
Spacecraft?
-
I'm thinking hard but can't come up with anything yet.
-
Spacecraft - wrong Zak
Keep thinking Chris
-
Battle damage to the 2 sections from the Hermesetas tubes - any ideas yet
-
Zombies......
Bigkev
-
Not a zombie in sight Kevin
-
A massive robot/war machine?
-
What’s first prize.
Bob c
-
Sorry Bob no prize -- and if there had been one its just been won by Chris - well done that man.
It will be an old and damaged battle robot that has been derelict and left to rot for a long time, now people have come and are scavenging the copper/lead/metal/electronic parts from the hulk. So rust, damage, overgrown vegetation, scaffolding and scavengers - what more could I wish for in a model - hohohoho
-
With more rubbish I expect.
-
Yes oh yes oh yes lots and lots of rubbish - its me Chris what do you expect
-
Box made and a start on the background filling - next job is a coat of filler.
Also looking at the photo must make arms and shoulder pads, damaged and parts missing.
-
This is going to be interesting.
-
NO Chris - just strange as most of my models are - hohoho
Coat of filler now added.
-
Ok - strange!
-
I think 'strange' is an understatement!!!!!
-
Basic shape body/head/arm now made - next job to make some surface detail on the robot and then happy times RUST RUST RUST - hohohho
-
Yes, I like the broken arm wiring.
-
Thanks Chris
-
Tin Man - Wizard of Oz.
-
Tin Man - Wizard of Oz.
How about "Zink Zak" or would I be in trouble AGAIN - hohohohho
-
Coat of Hull Red on the body and rivets added, when dry another dob of glue on the rivets and then hairspray and top coat of paint, then paint removal - oh joy
-

I don't zinc you will get away with that.
Metal Martin Maybe.
Yes, we can all alliterate.
-
I thought I was illiterate - hohohhoho
-
Looks like Robbie the Robot after a bad trip!!!!!
-
Is the hairspray to keep your locks in control?, probably borrowed Joyce's.
Oooops, I'm in trouble again.
Bigkev
-
Lost in admiration!!
-
Coat of chipping medium and then some sky blue.
Before you all say what a bad coat of paint, 90% will be removed and then rust added over the top of what is left, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it
-
Can you decide if its the top or the bottom half that has been removed ::) ::) ::)
-

Yes, but its a secret.
-
Second engineer now in place - when dry and solid will remove some more blue paint before the RUST starts.
Decided to put him in place so I can get the rust streaks running all down in the correct direction unlike the fridge I did on the zombie model. Now of to watch a film with "she who must be obeyed"
-
Some dark and light rust added. Now to start making 6,000 plants to go in and cover up lots of the machine.
-
The weathering looks the part.
-
Thanks Zak but I think it needs more but going slowly slowly bit at a time - easier to add more, than take it away when I have gone a bit mad at it.
Am also looking at how to turn wooden skewers into bamboo scaffolding.
-
First 28 leaves made, now on to the bamboo
-
Bamboo made - from top to bottom -- plain skewer, skewer marked with pencil, skewer ground down to bamboo shape, painted yellow/brown, and finally with white bands between the sections.
-
Recycling at its best,
-
Thanks Zak - its the only way to go
-
Recycling at its best,
Looking good Grasshopper!
-
Grand work Martin. I am impressed with the rusting and weathering. It really looks the part.
-
First leaves added to the model.
Second photo shows the start made on the 2 climbing vines - glue has been added to the twisted wire, when dry will prime and paint and add the leaves.
-
Spring has sprung and the first vine has now got some leaves - next job a bit of filler on the main part of the trunk so it does not look like twisted wire.
-
Weed - y - good.
-
I am trying to be good all the time - I have turned over a new leaf - hohohohoho
-
Tree- mendous.
-
At least I am not barking up the wrong tree ::) ::) ::)
-
At least I am not barking up the wrong tree ::) ::) ::)
So what are you doing to them?
I was thinking of dogs mainly.
No, don't go there.
-
Think I will call it a day and get back to some model making
-
Filler added to the vine trunks to take away the bent wire look - its just Plaster of Paris powder and some PVA glue before somebody asks
-
Some colour on the trunk and leaves - when dry will pick out some pattern on the leaves in a different green
-
I like the tip about using filler powder and PVA glue. I'll have to remember it for my next diorama (whenever that will be!!!).
-
2 climbing vines now added the tape will be removed when glue is dry and solid.

Did you use to be a prison officer in a former life?
You seem like restraining things.

It's amazing what comes out of that head of yours Martin. Great!
-
Ask Zak what is in my head Chris and you will be very very surprised - if not frightened - hohohohhoho

Not even a vacant space......!!!
You are a true mystery to world.
But, I still love/like you and call you a friend,....
Old age does that to you........
Bigkev
-
Its a sad sad sad old world but we make the most of it us old gits - its good to have friends or should that be fiends - hohhohoho
-
Some more leaves added to the model and a start made on the bamboo scaffolding
-

I'm perplexed Martin. We all do love you - I think. Keep up the good modelling.
-
I am glad you think Chris - hohohho
-
Bamboo scaffolding now in place and the walking planks fitted
Now to find some 1/72 scale figures that can start to scavenge the poor old desolate robot. At least in this scale Howard will not be able to complain that they have cross eyes or other badly painted features - hohohho

And don't forget the eyebrows!
-
Now with all the comments about the next lot of figures - who shall I base them on ???? Kevin or Chris - decisions decisions decisions - hohoho
-
Oops!
-
Should that not be "Ooops it was all Kevin's fault" - hohohoho
-
They could have different coloured eyes like David Bowie. Perhaps they could be his love children?

My eyebrows are almost non-existent, the right eye is bloodshot, and the left has a squint. (They don't actually but I thought it might be nice to be different.
Up for a challenge, Msea
Bigkev..........Eye,eye
-
Don't worry Kevin - I can do different - hohohohho - and I love a challenge ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
