This gets complicated but here goes:
Those that were at the last Nerd Day may recall that I was toying with
the saracen/templar models then, but decided that scales etc were dubious
so put them aside and went on to do the Samurai!
Picked them up recently and moved on, see Pic 1.
The original thoughts were correct, the Knight figure is pretty poor really.
Anyway, in the meantime, another Knight was discovered, wearing a Great Helm, using Lance etc.
Additionally, he is twisted to his right, which will be better in the final positioning,
So I got it and moved on, see pic2
The quality of detail on the latest one is far superior to the first!
However!!! I then decided that the horse looked small,( here we go again) and raked amongst the spares
box to find the original Knight See pic 3 to see comparison horses.
So I am now using the original horse with the replacement knight, see pic 4.
I said earlier that the quality of detail on the second model is superior to the first. This is especially true in the area
of the horses head, which is very noticeable. So, I am now attempting to sculpt in some more detailing, particularly
around the eye area. you can see the early attempts at this in the pics, but it has moved on but no photos as yet.
This is the fist time that i have attempted sculpting something in such a visible area. I did seriously consider
chopping and using the other head!......anyway, we will see how it goes!
