Hi Zak,
Nice that.
Does this mean you are now a 'shipper' rather than a 'missiler'?
Or is it just a short diversion.
Cheers,
Bigkev

Hi Zak,
I like it, it looks futuristic.
Don't worry about Msea, he's about 100 years behind us at best of times.(snigger)
But at least Msea can acknowledge a very, very, good model, so he cannot be all bad.
Another item for the 'Missile SIG' I presume??
Keep at it.

General Discussion / Re: Masking Models
« on: June 11, 2018, 08:01:46 PM »
Hi Guys,
Thankyou for the comments, much appreciated.
Just to show you that it works, I've now removed the masking and you can see that there is no overspray on the airframe.
It was quite simple to remove the bags and masking tape, you just need to be a little careful and unpeel the tape strip by strip.
Some pictures follow,

General Discussion / Masking Models
« on: June 09, 2018, 07:06:02 PM »
Hi All,
Just like to start this thread with the way I now use to mask large area's of a model before spraying.
It involves using food bags, the type you use to put your sandwiches in.
The area around the nacelle in this example has been masked with thin strips of Tamiya tape, then additional thicker strips are added until about 10mm around the area is covered and masked.
Now I use the food bags. They are very thin and easy to manipulate into position. They cover 90% of the airframe and you only need to tack down the openings of the bag to make an effective seal from paint spray.
Before I used to use paper and masking tape to cover the airframe, this way it is easier and quicker to do.
The same process can be used for tanks, ships, large figures, etc.
A few pictures of my model using this method follow.
Cheers,
Bigkev

Thanks Zak.

Well the model is now finished. Some of the decals needed a little bit of work, being too short in places, or much too large in others. In fact I have left the warning stencil off the nose wheel doors as they were about four times too big!!
A long slog with this one, but happy with result, will give it a day out at Northern Show on Sunday.
Some pictures of finished model;-
cheers,
Bigkev

Are we in danger of sinking to a 'New Low'?
