Happy Star Wars day to you all - hohoho
Its raining in Walkington so can't get out into the garden to finish off the bits I was doing - so some time for models.
Got this a couple of years ago at Telford for the box price of £2 - think I paid £1 - yes Zak I never change do I.
Its a 1/72 scale Mig 19 from KP models - now will it be done as a Mig19 - its me so some changes will make it into a MC36. The NATO name for the original was Farmer so this will be a "Frenzy" - hohohoh- now what will it end up looking like ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
Before any of you start thinking it will become a Star Wars thing don't bother -- my idea at the moment is worse - hohohho.
Bits primed and now off to do some more painting on the Alchemist of Bempton and then the Varyag - sorry Zak
-
£1 for a KP kit, you were robbed!!! Today is our eldest's 40th birthday so to mark the occaission, apart from the usual Star Wars jibes, the family has bought him a gold plated collectors edition USS Enterprise-D. Something you're not getting your hands on, lol!!!
-
We await your creation then Martin.
-
Hi Msea,
A MC26 'Frenzy', this is another direction from the man of creativity. Or should that be Insanity?
Treat us to something bizarre, again......

What do you mean Kevin - you know I only make kits straight out of the box - hohohoho

Which box though?

Which box though?
Out of the straight jacket surely?
-
Here we go again then!
-
HoHoHo Howard - I like to keep you all on your toes.
-
Two half's of the body fastened together, the instrument panel and seat just floated about in an empty space so have put a dollop of blue tack at the bottom of the seat/panel area to hold it all together and form a floor - that's for anybody who is daft enough to look inside one of my models - hohoho.
When its solid will clean up and then start on making the very small changes for this plane ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
Wings fitted - next some filler and a clean up.
Now does this not look just like a normal model plane - hohohohohoho
-
I can hear the shouts already "what has he done, who let him loose on a model plane" - hohohohhoho
-
Who let him loose on plane!!!!
I think there might be a film in the making.

Where have the wings gone?
-
They have flown off Chris - hohoho
-
Are you going to surprise us by doing a wing-fold conversion?
-
HoHoHoHo NO
-
I think he is winging it!
-
No Zak I have a cunning plan - hohohoho

No Zak I have a cunning plan - hohohoho
Oh dear!
-
You could say that!!!
-
Mig 19 X-Wing??? ::)

After many years of having to be able to identify cold war vehicles and aircraft, I have a certain fascination - I doubt I will be able to recognise this one though once you've finished with it MSea!
Incidentally, in response to your opening comment, I always greet people with "The Fourth of May be with you" as we British say our dates the correct way round, don't you now that! It really annoys those nerdy acolytes of "The Force" who still think it's cool to put "Jedi" as their religion on the Census form. I treat them with the same distain as rivet counters ;D

Bit of a clue for the future direction - hohohoho

A wheelie good clue.

Bit of a clue for the future direction - hohohoho
A new sleigh for Father Christmas?
-
Wheels added and next job is to make the wheel arches - think I will do an old worn aluminium surface.
-
Redbird instead of bluebird?
-
No Chris silver bird and faded at that - ho ho ho
-
I have a Silbervogel on back order at Hannants. Show me yours and I'll show you mine, oo err......
-
Stbd wheel arch added and cut to shape - yes it needs the filler smoothing down. The port wheel arch has just been fastened at the front end and when dry/solid will be fastened to the 2 brass pins and the aft end of the plane/thing/monstrosity and then cut to shape.
Its wet in Walkington so getting a bit of modelling done between making bread.
-
Some more work done on the wheel arches - then more filler and cleaning up
-
Going for the world speed record then Martin? Well for the build anyway.

Going for the world speed record then Martin? Well for the build anyway.
The only world record Msea go's for is the time to the biscuit plate at club meets.
As to this build, it could be 'Blue' as for the famous Bluebird racer.
However, I suspect that Msea has a more 'original' colour in mind.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Yes Kevin - worn aluminium with a double "R" on the tail with the 2 letters back to back - now what could that stand for ??????
-
Er.......
Red Robbo.....?
Note:- A suggestion only.
Bi
-
Good idea Kevin but it was going to be Robos Rocket or Robskis Rocketski - talked to Neil and he has chosen the later, so thats another problem sorted.
-
First coat of black primer and this has shown the areas to be worked on more - so back to cleaning up and smoothing.
-
Back wall under construction - the pink thing is the large roller door, the breeze blocks have been marked and scribed.
Next job is to paint the breeze blocks and then clean out the mortar lines. Then its paint and add the roller door surrounds.
-
Trying the position of the car and background.
-
An interesting diorama Martin. Looking foward to see how it turns out.
-
I think Rockin' Robbin would do.
-
How about "Zooming Zak" - hohohohoh
-
It wouldn't look out of place in the Wacky Races.
Very cool 8).
-
Coat of alumnium and some colour on the wheels. When dry will give a rub down and a second coat of aluminium, then on with some distressing - hohoho
-
Very distressing!
-
Is that me or the paint job Zak - hohohohho
-
Drat, Drat and double Drat!!
-
Drat, Drat and double Drat!!
And the muttley laugh hehehehehe.
-
Please Sir,
Medal, Medal, Medal....!
Bigkev
-
Car and background together
-
Logo on the tail please and Robbo driving it.
-
10 out of 10 for originality Martin.
-
Logo on the tail please and Robbo driving it.
Logo to come soon
Robo is in his bright orange suit and sitting in the driving seat ( that's somewhere he is not used to be in - hohohoho)
-
Logo cut from thin fablon type material but not happy with it, so have hand painted the back to back letters on the tail
-
Another wierd and wonderful effort, well done.
-
Hi Msea,
Thoughts of Neil in an 'Orange Jump Suit' strikes terror into me.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Looking at it again - he looks like he should be in Guantanamo Bay - ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
