Forthcoming attraction.
Watch this space.
Haddock.
-
I am watching !!!!!
-
Keep watching!!!!!
-
Just because you have been decorating.
It is like watching paint dry.
-
That's worth £20 of anybody's money is that kit!
-
Hope you're still watching!!
-
That's worth £20 of anybody's money is that kit!
Now I feel as though I've been robbed, it says £30 on the label!!
Haddock.

Just so you can see I'm doing something, here's progress so far. Just sub-assy's ready for painting, this is the easy bit. I really should put this on one side and finish Z39.
Haddock.
-
Progress is very slow, lots of small detail to produce.
Anyway, here's where I'm at now.
The colours are supposed to be " authentic " time will tell.
The prop guards are supplied in etched brass but there is no way in this world that what is supplied can be formed to the correct shape, so mine are scratch-built.
The transfers are to represent the walk-ways on each deck, not sure I like the look of 'em, it could be out with the decal remover once fitted.
Haddock.
-
mmm - yes, maybe you will.
-
On closer inspection, I think what look to be white lines across the black are actually spaces so I will be left with just the black bars with the deck colour showing through in between each black bit. only one way to find out, stick 'em on!!

This is what they look like on, not what I expected. I don't think they add much to the model.
Might look better with the setting solution washed off and some varnish applied. As you may see, some of the detail is added AFTER the transfers are in place.......... naughty.

Bit more progress. It all seems very slow but there's a lot to do, I've just counted another 60+ parts to go on, all very small, that doesn't include railings and other bits of brass that you can hardly see.
Haddock.
-
This could get tedious, these are depth-charges, mounted in groups of five, thirty in all so six groups.
Haddock.
-
More detail added, starting to look quite " busy ".
Haddock.
-
Progress is painfully slow so no pictures to post. Keep watching this space.
Haddock.

Some progress at last. These dark colours are playing tricks with my eyes. I'm having to fix then paint just so's I can see what I'm doing. Fair way to go yet, lots of small detail to add.
Haddock.
-
More railings added. I'm not sure that those around the torpedo tubes should actually be there but it looks sensible to me.
Haddock.
Same picture, different lighting!!
-
Those railings seem a lot chunkier than the delicate bits of brass I'm used to seeing. Is it just the pictures of are they more 'robust' than some of the others you've done?
-
It must be a trick of the light, to me they look finer under a coat of paint ( ignore the brush-marks)
Haddock.
-
Keep on with it Haddock,
it looks fine to me.

Fore-mast added, nine individual parts here, flippin' 'eck!!
-
Hi Haddock,
The nice work continues, keep plugging away my friend.
Cheers,
Bigkev

What do you mean nine parts? Only nine, you must be slipping.
-
Bit more detail added. Ships boats, a poor excuse for a main-mast and some dinky little cranes for manipulating the depth charges. One or two more bits that you can't really see.
Haddock.
-
Looks very detailed.
-
It is, still more to go on yet.
Haddock.
-
Are all those details in with the kit or aftermarket Haddock?
It is becoming a rather impressive beast.
Bigkev
-
All out of the box except the rails which are just generic stuff. A lot of modelling for thirty quid.
Haddock.
-
Details or not ---- I bet it is going onto a sea base !!!!!
-
Indeed it is.
Off on holiday tomorrow for a week, I'll expect to see a multitude of masterpieces on my return.
See you at Hull if you're going.
Haddock.
-
Once again I'm enjoying this older vessel. The clean, smooth lines of modern ships don't do it for me so well, though they're probably a good starting point for beginners?
See you at Hull - I'll be helping set up tomorrow and the club table (ours) will be part of that set up so no rush to get there extra early to lay the cloths down - it will be done already.
-
Hi Wizzel,
Good luck, take some piccie's for those of us who can't be there.
What about a photo based report at next meeting??
Cheers,
Bigkev
