Hello all,
Hope I don't upset anyone by posting this.
My friend asked me if I could repaint his Old RAF Vosper Dinky Toy for him. As I'm waiting to get all the stuff together that I need to start the 'Lanc', I said yes.
However, I wont be able to save the transfers (stickers) on the toy. I wondered if any of you chaps could help me. I have taken some pictures with a ruler next to the stickers for some scale.
Thanks all,
Andy.

Hi Andy,
You are welcome to look through my decal bank to see if there is anything to fit the bill.
Have roundels, and some lettering but maybe not the correct size, style.
Get in touch if I can help.
Cheers,
Bigkev

I think I've got some clear decal sheet if you want to go down that route.
I'll have a look if you wish.
Haddock.

Thank you both very much.
Tony, I will take Kevin's offer as I have never used the clear decal sheets before but thanks for the offer.
Kevin, I will give you a shout when I've finished painting it. The stickers don't have to be exact just near enough.
Many thanks.
Andy.

Hi Andy,
No problems matey, just give me a bell when ready.

You may find this photo interesting. It shows how the Dinky Vosper was originally packaged along with other similar items, presumably several of the hulls were the same.
-
Here's a better image of the model.
-
From your personal collection no doubt?
-
So that's why you call him "Dinky Bill" -- hohohohho - sorry Bill could not resist it.
-
Sorry, you are all wrong! I may have many collections but Dinky Toys are not one of them!
-
From your personal collection no doubt?
Thanks, I needed some photos. The one I'm doing has the dingy and deck gun missing. Apparently, there is someone online who recreates them with a 3D printer.
Cheers All,
Andy.

That's getting serious Andy.

Thanks Bob.
Ahhhh! A nice Nitro Mors bath... I know how to treat a vintage toy.
Andy.

SORRY forgot the photo...
-
All painted.
-
Get them stickers stuck on.
-
YUP!
-
A vast improvement.
-
NOW HEAR THIS!
My part here is done.
The Vosper belongs to a chap called Nigel. He's going to source a Bofors gun and dingy to finish it off.
Many thanks to 'TOP MAN' Kevin who created the transfers for the boat.
THAT IS ALL!!
-
Well done.
-
Its MUCH improved on when you started - well done that man.
-
You made a good job of that Andy.
-
I agree you've brought it on a long way, well done.
-
I've been watching too much Repair Shop... :o
Thanks all.

Return of the Dinky!!
The owner of the Dinky Vosper managed to get hold of this Atlantic Models Bofors gun to replace the one missing off the rear deck.
Although it built up into a beautiful little model, it just looked far too detailed for the toy boat. The original 'missing' gun was a very basic thing, molded in soft plastic.
I decided to have a go at scratch building a more suitable (less detailed) replacement.
My scratch building skills are far behind my friends in the club but here are my efforts so far.
-
Hi Andy,
Looking good, that is an impressive kit of the 'Bofors', but your scratch build effort is just as good, in my opinion.
A credit to you, Matey.
Cheers,
Kevin
-
Both are great Andy but I think your scratch built one will fit in better.
-
You can get hooked on this sort of thing!!
-
Really nice, how hard can it be?
-
Very well done Andy. Your scratch building skills are up there.
-
looks really good Andy

One last photo.
New dinghy on the pointy end and the home brew Bofors on the blunt end. Not original but tidy.
That's all folks... Honest.

Mission accomplished then.

Mission accomplished then.
If its "Mission Accomplished" - do I have to call him Tom Cruise from now on ??????

Amongst other things - no doubt.

You know me too well Chris - hohohohho

What you need now is a nice ship to fit the nice gun, shame to waste it!!
