Next research project now under way.Reading in the new Fine Scale Modeler magazine and saw the Takom 1/72 scale model of the turret from the Japanese battleship Yamato. Now that got me thinking (yes Zak its a BAD habit I have) - when I was in Leningrad/St Petersburg a few year ago saw this from the coach and was able to get a quick snap as we passed it. Next job is to find size, shape, what is the building in the background and what is the Russian lettering on the building and above the door.Just for Haddock - she was a heavy cruiser called Kirov 8,800tons with 9 x 180mm guns in 3 triple turrets built 1935-9 with help from the Italian firm Ansaldo - now off for a coffee all this thinking has got my brain in a twist - hohoho
Yes, but you have made a start.
