Bit done to the foredeck, some railings added.
I've been messing around with the flight deck. I painted it to Trumpy's reccomended colour, it looke horrible, tried lightening it and gave it a wash to pick out the planks, it still looked horrible.
During WW2, all US carriers had their wood decks stained dark blue, as it was a stain and not paint, the colour could be quite different from ship to ship. I stripped the paint and started again, gave it a wash and added the off-white stripes which were supplied as transferes ,I prefered to paint 'em. I think what I've ended up with is probably somewhere near the real thing, who knows, I haven't been able to findany colour images of the ship, only monochrome stuff. I've added a few which I've been using as reference material.
It's becoming pretty obvious that unless you kneel on the floor with your nose resting on the table, probably wearing a head-torch,you're not going to see much of what's going on beneath the flight deck.
Haddock.
