Sorry no photos of the build.
I did have a few problems, the fit of the parts is almost too good and even a layer of paint gets in the way.
Here it is finished as Katy from the film Ice Cold in Alex.
The cutting mat was included especially for Chris.
-
Thought you'd been a bit quiet. Nice model Dave. Any figures to go with it?
-
Not as yet.
I have some blankets and pillows and first aid packs on order though.
-
Is it vehicles now, any particulat type.
-
Not really, just fancied the Airfix kit.
Struggling to do much at the moment.
-
Well now you are finished and in Alex - you can have an ice cold beer - yohoho - must stop watching so many films
-
Thanks for the reassuring views of the cutting mat, I feel a lot better now, lol!!! Great build.
-
The Gecko Models offering has more parts and more detailed, full engine, the wheels can be posed in different positions.
As an example the Airfix Prop shaft is in one part, Gecko is in 5.
-
I feel a collection coming on.
-
Just the two I think.
Radiator and grill, nice bit of etched brass.
-
A bit more done,
You also get a figure with this kit.
-
DON'T let Bill near her ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Foibles alert!
-
I feel a small diorama coming on!
-
Small problem with the Jerry can.
The holes in the instruction are not in the same place as the holes on the etched part?
Very odd.
-
We know you will sort it out in the end ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Already sorted, I just removed the locating pins. That was not the point I was trying to make, sometimes you just wonder if anyone ever test builds a kit before production.
-
NO THEY DON'T - if a computer whiz kid designs it, then it must be right if the computer says so - making things is for luddites like us :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
All looking good, not got one yet I might see how you get on and then decide which one.
My Dad used to driver one of these in the late 40's between Italy and Germany I'm sure he said once a week.
-
I bet they were hard work to drive, crash gearbox, no power steering - harder men then.
-
The water cans at the back were on assembly on the Airfix kit,
This one has many more, the racks are etched brass and each can is 3 parts.
-
Coming along very nicely Dave.
-
Etch brass up to Haddock standard I see.

Etch brass up to Haddock standard I see.
I very much doubt that!
-
Almost finished.
Which is the better kit.
Difficult to say, good and bad points for both.
The Gecko one seems more detailed, but has lots of fiddly bits.
If I am honest, they were both a challenge.
-
Looks great now how many more will you make ::) ::) ::) ::)

That's it, no more!
-
Did the Gecko kit have any interior or is all the detail external?
-
Full internal detail, but as I had left the door open on the Airfix one, I decided to close this one up.
You bump into the strangest of people in Morrisons near Scarborough!
-
Very nicely done Dave.
