Started this at the playday. Progressing slowly - most of the cockpit assembled. This is going to take a while - it's a big beast.
-
Looking forward to seeing this build. It's an AModel kit so you must enjoy a challenge and make sure you have plenty of valium, lol!!!!
-
They are usually hard work, good luck Chris!
-
The plastic on this one is much imroved. It was quite soft in the smaller kits.
-
Nice work so far.
Seeing the parts at the Playday, this going to be a beast when finished.
You'll need a table alone just for it.

Some sub-assemblies completed before fitting to the fuselage halves.
-
Keep at it!
-
Main fuselage halves assembled with the cockpit.
-
Definitely looks like it's going to be big when finished. The recessed windows look like they'll be fun to mask.
-
Looking good Chris.

Main forward fuselage just about together. It's proved to be a little dificult to keep all the respective parts aligned durung assembly.
-
You can NEVER have enough clamps - hohoho
-
Looks like this one needs a lot of persuasion.

Kevin
A 14 pond lump hammer usually sorts out any problems that need a little persuasion - hohohhoho - engineers rule - ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
This took about half a dozen attempts to align and match the rear part of the fuselage. At least it's done now so that I can make a little more progress.
-
Keep on the straight and narrow!
-
That is a big beastie!
Patience of a saint I reckon....
Kevin
-
That?s a large machine Chris.

It is that. I had to get the attachment right or it would have had a kink in thr fuselage.

Will not say you could then join somebody else we know and produce kinky models - hohhohoho
-
Sometimes it pays to join the two halves down one side together before joining the two halves of the fuselage on long bodies. But it looks loike you got there in the end, well done.
-
Rotors assembled.
-
That's a really sizeable rotor.
Kevin
-
About 18 inches diameter.
-
Undercarriage and gondola fitted. This bit was one leg at a time.
-
It looks like you've managed to get it to sit correctly. Spindly legs are always a bind. (No comment please Martin).
-
What do you take me for Chris - hohohhoo
-
Good work on the undercarriage Chris.
Going to look good with a coat of paint.
Kevin
-
Now ready for masking. This could take a while.
-
Indeed. Patience and a sharp blade will see the day.
-
A lot of patience, me thinks.
-
Coming along nicely.

Once masked and paint applied it will look brilliant.

Kevin
Hope so.
-
A little progress. First top coat of white sprayed on.
-
Looks a real beast.
-
Yes it looks a beast but in a good way - what kind of noise does it make, if its a grumpy sound we could nickname it "Zak" - hohhohoho
-
Looking good.
That unifying coat of paint just makes it come to life. Will look good when fully dressed.
Kevin
-
Painting almost complete. Some detail and touching-up to be done, then on with the decals.
Yes it's a tail sitter untill I put the main rotors on.
-
Looking very smart.
Kevin
-
Coming along nicely.
-
A beast!
-
Almost there. The decals took a while to place. All are now positioned. One or two split so had fun sorting those out. Some bits of touch-up painting to be done and then a coat of varnish.
-
Thats looking really nice. Super paint job.
Kevin
-
I wish my cutting mat looked as clean and nice as yours!
-
Thats the one he uses for taking photos - bet he has another one thats more like ours - hohohhoho

You're dead right Martin.
-
Finished.
The touching-up took a while as did getting all the decals on. I had to cut up lengths of the cheat lines each side where they met the vertical door grab handles.
Overall I'm pleased with the outcome. Now I have to find somewhere to put it.
-
That is LOVELY!
Hats off to you Chris, you've done a stunning job.
Kevin
-
Thanks.
-
Another colourful addition.
-
Looks fantastic Chris.
