I acquired this CMK kit for £13.50, I was not sure what was in the box, but this is the Skoda Panzerbefehlswagen and has etched brass and resin parts in the kit.
The Jerry cans are resin.
This is the 35(t) fitted with a Fu 8 radio and a large frame aerial.
First impressions - it looks ok, but time will tell.
I should have just posted a picture of the jerry cans and asked you what it was.
I have the Tamiya kit to build into a 38(t).
-
not seen this one before, I'm sure it will be up to your usual high standard. hope everything is fine.
Bob c
-
Lots more individual track links?
-
Looks like a lot of kit for the price.
Haddock.
-
Yes, it seemed a bargain.
The parts definition is quite good, but the wheels and tracks do not seem to want to stick with either Tamiya thin or Revel Contacta, I have reverted to EMA Plasticweld and that seems to work.
This is the sort of white plastic that seems quite hard.
I may try Slaters Mek and Tamiya thick to see if that is any good.
A bit of information, the (t) denotes that the tank is from Czechoslovak, (tschechisch). The were Skoda and CKD in origin.
-
If I remember correctly, a large % of the German tank force was these Czech tanks at the start of WW2

Yes, they used lots of them.
-
Think you right Zak. You've got a bargain here.
Whats the bullet shaped thing above the gun?
Andy.

I am not sure, maybe the recoil mechanism?
I will endeavour to find out.
It is the recoil mechanism, but armoured as well.

The tank seems to have its basis in the Vickers light tanks.
The running gear in particular.
-
Some good pictures in the video clip. What colour are you doing yours.

As this one is a conversion by the Germans, probably Panzer Grey.
This is the command tank with extra radio and aerials.
I must look out for the others in this range, once you get used to the harder plastic it is ok.
-
Lots more individual track links?
No, there are some single and others in different lengths, they fit pretty well.
Undercoated.
-
Looking good.
-
Transfers Decals Stickers added.
Needs a coat of varnish and then a pin wash and dry brushing and several coats of varnish.
-
Looking very nice.
-
Then lots of weathering, most photos show they got really dirty. Have you decalled it for Poland or France with von Kleist's 6Pz Div.?

My intention was to have all my stuff as 3rd Panzer, but couldn't find this tank in use by them, so yes the 6th.
I ma not sure when, I see you spotted Divisional insignia.
-
Looks really nice.
Bob c
-
Just about complete, I am unsure about heavy weathering, it is very easy to overdo it, I have done a small amount of chipping on places prone to wear.
-
Strange place to have the radio aerial.
-
Strange place to have the radio aerial.
The large frame at the back is also an aerial.
The 38 (t) has the aerial in a similar position.
-
looks really nice, nice setting, I but the inhabitants didn't know what they were in for.
Bob c
-
Great job on the Panzer 35.
Andy.
-
Thanks Andy, The Tamiya was a real easy build and so it is almost complete.
I still find it difficult to weather them, I am afraid of overdoing it, so I just keep it light.

I don't think you can over do the weathering on Armour, after just a few days in the field they get filthily as hell.
Cheers,
Andy.

Just because you never washed your Warrior!
-
It was the dirtiest Warrior in the British Army. It was like a skip on tracks.
Andy.
-
The mind does boggle. And this is the elite British army!

Hi Chris,
Has Andy ever told you that he was part of the elite camouflaging team, his Warrior was left to be the dirtiest to check it blended into the roughest areas of potential conflict.
Just ask him.

Looks a really nice kit, and no water was for washing and cooking.
Bob c
-
Hi Bob,
What an awful thought.
If you were in tanks then I assume that you were very thin, and had no sense of smell?
Bigkev
-
I wont bore you with a war story but our Warrior or 'Wagon' as we called them was the 'Septic' of C company. We looked horrible and we where horrible. ;)
Andy.

Nice Idea Chris,
Over to you Andy.
Bigkev

Everyone smelt the same so no one noticed.
Photo would be nice Andy.

Sorry, mind freeze, I should have posted this here, Dooooh!
Nice tracks from Tamiya, but what is it?
Kevin suggest a Nashorn, but he is wrong,
-
It's a tank !!!!!!!
-
It's a tank !!!!!!!
Technically speaking it isn't.
"A heavy armoured fighting vehicle carrying guns and moving on a continuous articulated metal track."
But its not far off, it has tracks, is a fighting vehicle and carries a gun.
-
My book just says it's a 38(t) - nothing further. Hmmmm

Is it a Hummel?
Bigkev
-
No, its not, it is a self propelled gun though, but which one on a 38(T) redesigned chassis?

Fibbing.....

It was mine as I was scrolling down, before I got to the answer, honest.
-
In the words of Haddock, "I have been slapping some paint on".
Still painting the figures.
-
Figures eventually finished, and added to the vehicle.
-
Looking good whats next ??????
-
See under Panzer III.
-
Excellent,
Andy.
-
Excellent addition to the panzerarmee.
Maybe you'll post a photo of the whole panzerarmee sometime?

Will do, but on which thread?

Another one called 'collections'?

Another one called 'collections'?
Will do, over and out.

Fantastic model I think this is the best one of the recent builds by far. Love the paintwork.
-
It looks really good. the colour scheme adds a lot1
Well done!
-
Here is a different version.
Designated Marder III, this is the Ausf.H (SdKfz 138), with the PAK 40 gun.
These had a high profile and so the gunners were more exposed.
This is quite and old kit from Italeri, so I will just have to see how it goes.
-
What an excellent looking model.
Bob c
-
Thanks Bob.
The Italeri kit is making some progress.
Painting/ transferring in progress.
Some of these served in North Africa I believe, so that will be mine.
-
This will be a different version, also served in North Africa.
This is the early version equipped with the 7.62cm Pak36(r) - the sd Kfz 139.
The gun was the Russian FK296 rebuilt to German specifications.
As you will see this is a Tamiya kit.
-
Double wow!!
-
The panzerarmee continues to grow.
I think I have some catching-up to do.
-
You'll need a bigger attic Chris!!!
-
You'll need a bigger attic Chris!!!
It's empty at the moment. I hope to keep it that way. Plenty of room in the garage.
-
A coat of varnish, still need to add the figures, I will probably use the ones in the kit, they are a bit ???????????????
I can't find the words, but you will see what I mean when I add them.
-
Finished. Don't look at the figures - of course now you will.
-
Figures look OK and they finish the model off well and take it to another level - that's my opinion.
-

Thanks Martin, but they have strange large hands and general dimensions look wrong, maybe ok for a zombie crew.
-
Pass them on always have a place for a zombie or two - hohoho
-
Good model. I agree with Martin about the figures - they add to the model.
-
Here is the Tamiya Marder, nice kit.
Finished in Afrika Korps colours, they were grey when they arrived in Africa and then overpainted, I have tried to show this by some grey showing through.
Some weathering, still to add sand to the tracks.
