Well I was going to finish a couple of models and then move onto BODROG and GRIVITA ( any idea you lot -- clue is it would have put a smile on Haddocks face )
Decided I must get on with this model, I got it at reduced price from Telford a couple of years ago.
Will it be made straight from the box - its me , so not a chance. As it comes together you will sort out what will eventually happen to it.
-
Clean up of the seams and a dry run at fitting the sections together. Now who does he look like ????
-
Clean up and dry fit for Gromit
-
Hi Msea,
This is gonna be one to watch.
Which one of us will suffer at the hands of Msea????
Your imagination is your only limit.
Cheers,
Bigkev

Dare I say Kevin.
Haddock.
-
You can say anything you like, as long as YOU take the flak. Now the only question is are you talking about Wallace or Gromit ??????

Well, I do like cheese....!!

Leaving the who looks like who to the rest of you - a start made on rusting up the van exhaust.
Before anybody asks it has been painted with Town & Country Scenics RUST-IT - got this last year at Telford. This is the dark colour and when it is dry in about 25mins will add some lighter colour on top of some parts.
-
Top half, head and left hand fastened together on Wallace/Kevin/? --- I think he looks more like a Peggy in this photo
-
Most parts fitted to the underside, basic paint job done (you don't see it so why bother is my motto) now on to the extra bit on the van roof.
-
Small extension added to the roof - now what is going into this ????
-
Full clean up and a dry run on Wallace/Kevin/?
-
I like the look of the rust stuff.
-
3 photos of the new head lights -- first coat of green paint, when dry some different greens and purple inner part of the "venus fly trap"
-
Just had a good look at the eyes and decided to remove the dark eye ball centre - they will give the 1000 meter stare.
-
WWP now added to the pocket - will put this on the back of the shirt with rub down lettering when it is all painted.
-
Coat of green on the boiler suit
-
Some more bits painted
-
First coat of paint on the car body. The other 2 shots show the rust areas on the car body.
-
Steering wheel, handbrake, gear stick and dash board fitted.
-
Fast work, see you in about three weeks.
-
Have a great time Zak
-
Gromit in place behind the wheel - next job some filler on the arm joint, primer and then a paint job.
The eyeballs have had the central section removed the same as Wallace/Kevin/? so he can look to the side instead of just straight in front with the wide eyed stare
-
Attention to detail eh!!
-
NO just frightened of what Howard will say when he sees the mess I will make of the face painting.
-
Another coat of paint on the car body. Gromits head removed and some filler added to the arms and body joint.
-
Another thin coat on the car body.
Just before cleaning up Gromits joints - could not resist putting his head in his hand -- its the new "Headless Gromit" from a horror film.
-
Both parts of the car body fastened together with all 3 doors on the hinges
-
A coat of PVA glue and some green tea leaves now added to the extra section on the roof. When its dry it needs some light and lime green paint to bring it to the correct colour.
-
A start made on some sarracenia to go on top of the van. Its a bit of sprue drilled and cut down thinner at the base. When its solid the top will be cut to shape and bent over - well that the plan at the moment, we will see how it goes.
-
Shape seems OK now the paint job and about another 40 - 50 sarracenia to make - why don't I just make a plane and save all the time and trouble ???
-
From the Zulu war to stone age - figures recycled to make figures for this model.
-
Hi Msea,
Are those Magic Mushroom's on sale again at a really cheap (Yorkshire) price.
Not sure how the figures fit in.....
Bemused, Confused, but that's normal for me.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Hi Kevin you are correct -- posted this in the wrong area. It should be in the Fred Flintstone area - they may be looking for the Zulu Army ??? or it could just be the stupid person who posted it in the wrong place.

Aaaaah All becomes clearer...….. I don't think!
At least I spotted them AWOL from the correct post, though what part they will play in Fred Flintstone area, I still can't work out....
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Is it not obvious Kevin, they are the crew - after a little bit of adaptation.
-
Top of the car now has different greens added before the plants are added ( after they have all been made )
-
Top of the car now has different greens added before the plants are added ( after they have all been made )
Will any of these plants resemble the 'Fungi' that you obviously take before your next modelling session....??
Bigkev
Or will it be those 'wiffy ones' from your greenhouse..?
-
Triffids probably or something even worse.
-
You are as sharp as a didgeridoo -- they will all be carnivorous plants -- sarracenia's, venus fly traps and sundews.
-
Base coat of lime green on the sarracenia, when dry some red veins to add.
-
Red veins added to sarrencinia
-
Different type of sarrecenia made with a lot more red colour.
-
3 different types of sarrecenias made and painted
-
Colour added to Gromit and also his eyes done, just waiting for Howard to pull the face to bits - but heyho its only a hobby and for FUN.
-
Trial to make a sundew when the glue is dry will see if it cuts to shape without knocking the small bits off. If this does not work will try soldering some bits together.
-
Test finished - OK for strength when dry ---- BUT as soon as you try to cut the small bits into shape most just ping off.
So trying to bend them into shape is a no no - will try and solder some when I get time and see if that is strong enough.
The joys of scratch building -- just think its all for fun.
-
Bit more work done on Wallace
-
Wallace all finished just a coat of pledge and some oil paint shading to do.
-
Looks impressive.
Haddock.
-
I agree with Haddock, 'he' looks just like the real 'Wallace'.
When do you start work for Aardman….?
Nice, very nice.
Bigkev
-
Starting handle now fitted to the car.
-
Gromit now has his own hat
-
Gromit now has his own hat
Hi Msea,
Will these become 'Club Issue' after this build.....?
Penning my request to Bill, now...……
Bigkev
-
Is that the hat or the starting handle ?????
-
Is that the hat or the starting handle ?????
'Where would the starting handle fit?'
Bigkev, ho, ho, ho.....
-
Well now started to model again - first some fixing of the models that have been damaged when packing things away.
Also decided to finish this model of Wallace and Gromit for the next club meeting, some more parts added and coat of pledge to add the decals on the car sides.
-
Good rusting.
-
A blast from the past.
-
A blast from the past.
Is that ME or the model - hohohohho
Transfers now added.
-
Ah.....
I fondly remember this one from the Msea stable.
Nice to see it back again.
Bigkev
-
Trial fit with the new Venus flytrap headlights - before you ask NO they don't light up, the bulb is just a bit of rounded sprue
-
Oh no....................................... Boggled again!
-
Rubber seal round the windows now painted grey and when dry will put the windows in and then add the transfers on the windows.
-
No sign of zombies!
-
Not a zombie in sight - but that's the time they just pop up, when you are least expecting them - hohohohho
A couple of transfers added to the windows, now time to eat, might get some more done later or its a film with "she who must be obeyed" - both OK by me.
-
Very Martinesque!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thank you kind sir ::) ::) ::)
-
Tail lights now painted and ready to fit when dry.
-
Put some bulbs behind them or LED's?
-

-
More bits and bobs added to the car
-
Headlights and Gromit fitted.

Can you explain how the starting handle works?
-
YES - its a very handy thing to have ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Thanks for that!
-
Exquisite model Martin. Very...
-
Exquisite model Martin. Very...
Are you lost for words Chris - hohohohho
-
I wonder if Joyce has an On/OFF switch for Martin...?
It would probably be a very useful addition.
Bigkev
-
She had one , but its bust - hohohohohho
-
I have a repair kit ready...........
-

Definitely Martin.
-
Some Vallejo rust paint added to the car and then a Flory wash to bring out the lines.
-
Safe, humane pest control - mmmm - I wonder?
-
An excellent model Martin. As for the pest control...
-
Great model, love the rust!!!
-
There is a rumour going around that you Msea is going to make a guest appearance in the next Wallace and Gromit adventure.
Will you be adopting the multi coloured shirt as part of your persona......?
Ho,ho, ho, ho........
Bigkev
-
Four lots of sarracinia added to the car roof. Next job make some venus fly traps and sundews
-
Right up your carnivorous plant street.
-
You have seen me demolish a bacon butty - now you know who trains me - hohohoh
The parts made for a venus flytrap, next some red and green colour.
-
You need the odd Triffid for Human pest control as well!
-
You need the odd Triffid for Human pest control as well!
And zombie control.
-
Base made and several lumps knocked out with a hammer to give it grip and then some holes drilled at 45degrees. Shuttering fastened to the edges with sellotape round the edge so the plaster doesn't grip.
Last photo is the venus fly traps ready for painting.
-
Plaster added to the base
-
Floor stones marked out and cut, next job some colour shading and a dark wash.
-
I usually etch out the joints with a scriber or small screwdriver.
-
Looks good.
-
I usually etch out the joints with a scriber or small screwdriver.
Yes I do the same with a scriber, but being in a rush it was still not dry in the center section under the top layer, and started to come apart. So have let it dry some more in the sun and then used a cutting bit in the drill.
-
Two sets of venus fly traps now added to the car roof.
-
A start made on a fly , showing the body and the 2 eyes, wings and legs to make next.
-
Some colour on the fly - now should it stay as fly type eyes, as it is - OR should they have some cartoon type black dots in each eye - decisions decision decisions.
-
Is it a bluebottle?
-
No getting anything past you Haddock - did the colour give it away - hohohhoho
-
Fly/bluebottle has now grown legs (he has stopped drinking and is no longer legless - hohohho ) now also fastened to the car roof..
-
Ready to buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz off!
-
Great imagination.
-
I wish somebody would bottle Martin's imagination.
We all could do with a drop or two of it.
Each project reaches new heights of unabridged creativity.
Nice Msea, just what we get treated to each time.
Bigkev
-
Thanks Kevin BUT others just call it as it is, STRANGE - hohohohho
