Hi All,
Thankyou to everybody who went out and 'clapped' for the Key Workers tonight.
Down my road, there was a reasonable turnout, probably a few less than last week, but why?
This pandemic is going to be with us for a few months yet, so don't get complacent. Remember those Lads and Lassie's on the front line, who will be there for you if you become ill.
For me, my work has changed, now dealing with those who have, suspected, or have not had Covid-19.
Each patient, is a human being, and deserves the best care from us all, it does not matter who you are, everybody can do their little bit to help, social distancing, self isolation, help with food, medicines, just saying 'Hello, are you okay?'
So for those of us that are well enough, can I ask you take 5 preferably 10 minutes out of your current fully filled, hectic life regime (if you can during lockdown) and go out at 8.00pm on a Thursday night to show your appreciation and respect for those to are there to support you and your family at this difficult time, whether they be NHS staff, Carers, Shop Workers, Food Producers, Cleaners, Bin Men, etc.

I'm probably going to have to be moderated for being too passionate about this subject,

Bigkev

All the usual's out, we have three or four houses where no one bothers, I sometimes wonder what is wrong with them.

We only seem to have 2 who never come out - everybody else is out making a noise and waving to each other

At least going out at 8pm we get to see all our neighbours so we can shout to each other across the gardens.

Hi All,

Not as many out tonight due to the rain, but some were at the windows.

Poor turnout here although some were hanging out of windows banging pots.

ALL the normal people out tonight again

By that statement, do you imply that you did not come out....hohohoho

Only joking, I'm sure you and Joyce did.

On my street a goodly selection of people, and some friendly waves to each and another.
A nice feel in the air.
In some way I hope this continues, in other ways, I hope it doesn't if you know what I mean.
Well done to everybody who came out and 'clapped', for one working for the Ambulance Service, it does make us feel valued and appreciated.
However, we still get the odd person who comes up and questions and berates us as to why an Ambulance is parked up, with crew in the middle of a pandemic?
Firstly, we have to be placed strategically, ready to respond to an incident.
Secondly, we have to observe our own social distancing at work. 6 x 2 person crews in the same crew room at the same time, is not acting responsibly.
Thirdly, we can only respond to a request for assistance when it is received.
I can assure you, that every individual crew reacts as quickly and professionally as possible to every job/detail as they are passed from our control centres.

Thanks to all those who supported.
Bigkev

Don't worry Kevin - some people are stupid, even when they use there whole one brain cell.
I just hope that after this covid19 is over, people still remember who is important and the type of jobs that have kept us all going
