Decided to have the Varyag going through the Suez Canal - so need some Arab dhows , so started carving one from some MDF.
Will see how it goes and may need to convert to carved out of plastic or construct from plastic sections.

Hi Msea,
If it was me doing this, it wouldn't be Dhows, it would be more of 'Dooh's' ( a'la Simpson's)
look forward to Dhow's and not to 'Dooh's'
Cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

Not with the quality that I turn out next to his excellent models - know your place and keep trying is my motto.

Work done on the ships vents.
Decided to place the ship on a wood base that I had made a long time ago for another model and have it on a section of water with arab Dhows ( or to keep Kevin happy Doohs) around her.  Have added some felt feet to the wood and will give it a rub down and then a coat of varnish - then its time to decide if I will grind out a thin section of wood to put the water in or have it standing proud of the wood - decisions decisions decisions  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Whatever you do will look great. Are you having Arabs selling things from the dhows?

Section of wood cut out with a chisel and then cleaned up - before you ask the pencil marks are showing the holes drilled at 45 degrees, so the first layer of paste will key to the wood base.

Maybe we can temp you with one of our many other fantastic offers - YoHoHo
Putting the selling to one side the first thin coat of paste keyed into the wood base and the wood surround varnished.
