Now then, it's me again. It's so long ago since I posted anything, I've nearly forgotten how to do it!!

Progress is painfully slow but here's some pics of the bridge area. It's now obvious that the fore-mast is way too short, I'm plucking up the courage to chop it off and graft one on that's round about the right height.

Faint heart never won fair lady!!
Should look OK with a bit of a clean up and some paint sloshed on. The extra gusset is just to stiffen it up a bit, shouldn't be there really.
Haddock.
I do like it when a plan comes together.

Is the ranting over now?
Can we all get back to normality at last.
Looks ok Tony, does it telescope?

Rant over. It doesn't telescope, it's the main-mast that may telescope. As an aside, I've found a picture of Prince Eugen's main-mast. Even allowing for the perspective, the two crows nests are very close together, suggesting that the middle portion of the mast has been lowered. I can only assume that this was a feature of all ships in the class.
                           HOWEVER.
I'm now building the cranes.

Pic No 1 shows the port side crane roughly in position, note the end of the jib resting on the ships boat.

Pic No 2 shows the starboard side crane roughly in position, note how the jib neatly stows between the ships boat and the edge of the hull.

Pic No 3 shows the port side with the crane removed, note the huge gap between the two ships boats and the mounting position of the cab ( about 10mm too far forward ). The gap isn't there on the starboard side boats!!

Pic No 4 shows the starboard crane with the jib jacked up a little to clear the rails. Both sides should look like this according to my reference pictures.

How Trumpeter manage to get it so wrong is beyond me.
Now I need to decide what to do with the portside crane, now ain't a good time to be attempting any major surgery!!

Wowza Haddock, repositioning that crane isnt feasable is it?? What with the wooden decks and all. This is a major error from Trumpeter. Would it be possible to adjust the crane to a higher angle to clear the boat, railings or whatever may be in the way??? Just an idea.

Hefty looking chains.

Don't get him going on the size of his chain.

BUT it looks like another Telford winner to me.
