Failures and Frustrations
« on: October 07, 2016, 10:18:29 AM »
I don't know about you but I have times when I find it really difficult to settle down to modelling.
Nothing seems to go right and I lose bits on the floor, the paint won't stick, the masking tape pulls the paint off or the paint bleeds under it.
Well for the past two weeks this has been the case, the more I try the more frustrated I get.
This is a failure and I could not get a decent finish.
I post here as a warning to all.
This is a Revell Dodge Viper, I found it really hard to build and am really not satisfied with the end result.

I think some would be quite happy with that.

Looks okay to me, a smart looking finish.

I always thought photo's highlighted ones mistakes, there doesn't seem anything obvious to me, a bit more info Zak please.

I hope my next is always better

The paint finish is not very good, my photography hides it. I had to do a lot of touching up and it just isn't as it should be.

I think we're our own worst critics.  I haven't sat at the bench for a while - partly due to lack of time but mainly because I'm waiting for that spark of inspiration to get me to return to one of about 5 kits that are in various stages of build.

That said, I can only echo what others have said - it's a nice looking kit - treat those corrections of bits you're not happy with as part of the building and learning project rather than a "failure".
