Excellent beer and lager, good parachute display and a helicopter and lifeboat display.
The models were not bad either.

A good afternoon.
Maybe some photos to follow.

Help / EMA Plastic Weld

I quite like this item for a rapid joint, it evaporates as you look at it.
Always keep the top on tight or its gone.
I must make some sort of support for the base, I usually knock the bottle over, as I rush to get the parts aligned correctly.
It make a real mess of your cutting mat as well. (see photo)

Modelling Projects / BW Models 1/76 Vicker Vigor Tracked Dozer
« on: May 04, 2015, 12:04:30 PM »
After Colonel Tony threw down the gauntlet I just had to complete this. He is building the BW Cat D7. We both had real problems with the tracks. Well, I think Tony has managed to build his ( I got an e-mail) so I just had to do something.
Well I hacked the tracks about and made them almost fit, here is the result.
I am not convinced that I like white metal kits, they are rather dirty.
Well the mud covers a lot of my faulty modelling.

After a quick glance through the latest IPMS magazine it looks like a take over by our club.
Article on our show from Kevin.
John Cook and his Wright Cyclone Engine.
Mr Robinson and Mr Newton on Spitfires.
What more can one say.
Well done you lot.
Oh, just noticed Adrian in there as well.
This must be some sort of record?

« on: March 03, 2015, 08:11:14 AM »
Well I did find a shop selling some models, just for you Kevin.
It was on a very small back street and we came upon it by chance.
I think that they got that kit in especially for Kevin!

General Discussion / A question of scale?
« on: February 21, 2015, 10:07:34 AM »
Look at the photo below.
The two outer figures are sold as 1/32nd scale, the inner one as 1/35 scale.
What a difference there seems to be.
So, is one very big, is one very small or is it a case of both?
1/32 is 9.53 mm = 1 ft.
1/35 is 8.67 = 1 ft.
This makes the 1/32 over 5 f.t when seated - seems a bit big.
the 1/35 is 4 foot when seated.
I measure about 4 ft.3 in. when seated.
Draw your own conclusions.

« on: January 15, 2015, 10:07:35 AM »
Well, great I thought.
The new venue at Cass Hall was excellent, the lighting and facilities were superb.

In our 20th year we can look forward to a great new start.

I think we forgot to say thanks to Christine for doing the refreshments.

23  people attended, great stuff, long may it continue.
