Modelling Projects / Magach 2
« on: February 12, 2024, 08:02:15 PM »
As the Magach 7C is almost finished I have started the 1/35 scale Revell M48A2C and convert it to an IDF Magach 2, Israel bought these from Germany, so I believe it will only require some minor changes.

General Discussion / Leeds Scale Model Show
« on: February 12, 2024, 07:41:13 PM »
On Sunday I attended the model show at Leeds Armouries, the hall was a bit dark but I don't think it affect viewing the models on display.
Good selection of traders around the outside of the hall with clubs and Sigs in the middle.
Met Francis and Graham who attended with there respective Sig and club.
Overall an enjoyable few hours.
Couple of pictures to give a general idea of the hall.

Modelling Projects / Magach 7C

I started this 1/35 scale Academy Magach 7C as the 6B is nearing completion.
During the Yom Kippur War the Israelis lost a lot of tanks to Egyptian infantry, these loses were replaced with the older M60 (Magach 7) and M60A1 (Magach 6).
The older M60 still had the M48 turret armed with a 105mm main armament so does look a bit different.

Modelling Projects / Magach 6B

This is the Academy 1/35 scale Magach 6B Gal Batash (Israeli version of the M60).
It's an oldish kit with some all new parts, started it last Saturday and it's going together nicely.
Some holes in the hull will have to be blanked off, it must have been motorised when it first appeared.

On Sunday 9 members of the club travelled south to attended the Lincoln Model Show. Neil, Chris, Dave, Kevin, Bob, Peter, John and Peter all displayed there models on the club table. The most talked about item on the table was a small display of plasticine ships built by the late Col.Tony.
It was a good show with a variety of traders, and looked well attended.
Just one picture this time.

This is the 1/35 Scale Meng kit of a Rolls Royce armoured car, started last night.
I think it wont be until it's nearly finished and the wheels are on that I'll find out if they all seat on the ground.

This is another 1/35 scale Tamiya Cromwell, built using Accurate Armour deep wading accessories.
I started it a while back and will hopefully be finished for the next club night, just decaling and the finishing touches left.

After a scenic drive four club members attended the Keighley model show, Bob C, Chris W, Chris H and Kevin D. Francis and Graham also attended for other clubs/sigs.
Graham displayed an aircraft on our table and spent sometime with us.

It was a good show with a good spread of traders, only someone selling paints and tools missing, A good burger van was stationed just outside the main entrance.

Kevin was category winner for for his TWA Constellation.

Here are a couple of photos from a good day.

Modelling Projects / A10 Cruiser tank
« on: September 04, 2023, 08:02:09 PM »
Hi all
no build thread for this one, just the finished model.
It's the 1/35 scale Bronco A10 cruiser tank built as used by the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) in the markings of HQ 2nd Armoured Brigade, 1st Armoured Division in France May 1940.
A good kit, it was just me doing a small amount of modelling every now and then, so took a long time to finish.

General Discussion / Northern Model Show
« on: June 05, 2023, 08:08:26 PM »
Three club members made the journey north to North Shields and flew the club flag [on the table anyway], it was an excellent show as usual. There was a good mix of traders with some good bargains to be had. there was no big rush at the beginning of the show just a steady stream which made a good day. this show it was Chris W with his Chinook that was asked many times how long it took to paint the camouflage. Francis was at the show and Roger came to have a chat as well.
To mush waffle I think, so a few pictures.

General Discussion / Sword and Lance
« on: April 03, 2023, 09:39:15 AM »
Four club members had an early Saturday morning start.
We had a good day at the show, plenty of public, clubs and traders, it was split into various rooms with clubs upstairs in the warmth and traders downstairs in the freezer.
We were in a prime position so Andy's Lancaster was seen and admired by everyone.
Steve and Wayne did well in the competition.
Francis and Adrian also attended.
A few pictures.

General Discussion / Bolton Model Show 2023
« on: January 23, 2023, 11:28:05 AM »
Tony, Dave and myself had a good day out at the Bolton Model Show, all made some purchases.
The show was very well attended. The only downside was queuing to get in but it did move quickly, one of the downsides to not displaying.
A couple of pictures of the ground floor display area.

Just started this conversion which is a 1/35 scale Tamiya Cromwell and Accurate Armour engine bay, lots of resin and etched parts.
some of the resin parts have been removed from the blocks and the upper hull engine top removed.
