Hi Andy,
I think you meant it meant 'well'
Though a dream, could be a 'nightmare'
From what I have heard, it is the former?

Hi Andy,
Very good work matey, I look forward to seeing this one progress.
I have the 1/72 version so it will be interesting to hear your build comments.
Cheers,

One review says it needs a bit of care around the nose transparencies and as ever plenty of dry runs before committing to glue. One of the great things is the turret can be slotted in later so no need to worry about trying to mask around it. I have reviews and builds of the kit which I can scan and send you if you like Andy. Pity it's not the 1/72 scale one I have a set of masks for that. Kev you can have them if you, or anyone else, need them when you come to build. Same with the Do 17.

Hi Andy,
You've made good progress...

Like Chris mentioned, extra care may need ti to be taken around the nose transparencies... apparently the nose glazing halves need to be fixed to the fuselage halves first before the fuselage halves are joined.

Will keep in touch,
Biggles

Thanks for the comments Chaps. I will take care with the glazing.
Chris, I can use all the help I can get.
MARTIN, the wingspan of the kit is about 360 mm.
You can see by the photo of the wing that the lower half is a bit distorted. Warm water may sort it.
Cheers,
Andy.

Here's the latest.
The lower haves of the wings where warped so I had to take my time with them. Other than that the fit of the parts is pretty good.

I've got a book on the Blenheim by Chaz Bowyer if you want to borrow it.
Mainly its service life, but some good pictures included.

I have the Graham Warner book which is a mighty tome giving details of the various marks, operators and losses in different theatres plus much, much more with lots of photos including close-ups.  We're probably going to Atwick next week so if you want to borrow it I could swing by and drop it off.

Hi Andy,
That looks like a really clean build.
I am going to learn a lot from this build from 1/48th to 1/72nd.
Excellent modelling, as usual.

Here's the latest.
Had a bit of trouble with the canopy, it took a couple of attempts to fit.
Now I know not much has happened but after wrestling with the Blenheim I decided to mend Tony's Concord. What a beast...
Andy.

The Blenheim's coming along nicely Andy. Re Concorde I might try and source one to convert to the SST used in 'The Man in the High Castle', another Luftwaffe 'What If'!!

Thanks Chaps.
The 1/72nd Concorde is a real challenge of a kit to build.
Chris, I agree, it would look great in 'Man in the high castle' scheme.

Thanks.

I used my new airbrush for this.

Title: Re: Airfix Bristol Bleheim
Post by: councilman on July 26, 2020, 06:32:08 PM
And here's the airbrush.
Its the Mr Hobby Pro Con FWA and it cost £118.00.
I've only ever owned cheep airbrushes, this new one is much better engineered and much easier to clean.
The air valve on the front of the brush is brilliant and gives me much better control over air flow.
Cheers,
Andy.

A neat looking brush, I'll check it out. Re the colours did you check with Biggles to make sure you have the right shades for the period, lol?

Yes.
Biggles kindly sent me some information by post.
The green looks darker in real life. I used the Vallejo BOB colour set.

Is that the same airbrush that Haddock has?
Title: Re: Airfix Bristol Bleheim

i don't use mine a lot so am still using a generic cheap one from Telford a few years ago - brush is best - hohohoho
Title: Re: Airfix Bristol Bleheim
Post by: Haddock on July 27, 2020, 09:27:18 AM
Is that the same airbrush that Haddock has?
It looks the same, mine has a 0.2mm nozzle which I thought would be too small.
The chap at Albion Alloys convinced me 0.2mm was big enough provided I thinned my paint
correctly, if I didn't like it, he would swop for a 0.3mm nozzle, it works fine.
I think it's just as important to have a reliable source of clean dry air with fine control
of the pressure and paint thinned to the right consistency, a cheap brush will work just as well
although it probably won't last as long and be as nice to use.
            Still, I'm no expert.
Haddock.

Almost there...
Red Lancer-I found the panel lines on this kit to be spot on (in my opinion). The only problem I've had is the fit of the canopy but that may be my lack of skill.
Cheers,
Andy.

We've all made Rookie mistakes like that Andy so I wouldn't worry. Re the collector rings I read an article where a guy said he'd never seen them as 'brassy' as on models, they've always been greyer due to the heat.

Thanks,
